    Summary

Shoppers want to know when an order will arrive, and a clear delivery date on the product page answers that before they reach checkout. We wanted to know how many ranking product pages actually show one on a phone.

Very few do. Only 6.0% of 302 ranking product pages rendered on a phone show a delivery date or a delivery window. On the rest, the product page itself gives no specific arrival date.

    What we measured

We rendered product pages that rank in Google for searches in commercial verticals, on a phone-sized 390x844 screen. 302 product pages loaded with usable content; pages that were blocked or loaded without usable content are left out.

We searched the rendered page text for delivery phrases such as "get it", "arrives" or "delivered by" followed by a date, a weekday, "tomorrow" or a day range. We split matches into dated estimates and day-range windows tied to delivery.

Three limits apply. Estimates that appear only after a shopper enters a ZIP code are not seen, so the true share of stores offering a delivery estimate is likely higher. The sample is small. And the vertical groups are smaller still: 31 pages in electronics, gaming and auto and 41 in apparel and jewelry, so treat those figures as directional.

Very few product pages show a delivery date

6.0% of the 302 ranking product pages show a delivery date or delivery window on a phone. 4.0% give a dated estimate, such as "arrives Thursday" or a calendar date, and 2.3% give a day-range window tied to delivery, such as "delivered in 3 to 5 days".

The rest of the pages say nothing specific about when the order will arrive, at least not before the shopper interacts with the page. Some may rely on a general shipping policy page or show estimates only at checkout, which this render does not reach.

Shopify pages show one a little more often

By platform, delivery date display ranges from 4.1% on other platforms (122 pages) to 7.7% on Shopify (169 pages).

The gap is small, and both numbers are low. Delivery estimate apps are widely available on Shopify, which may help, but even on Shopify fewer than one product page in ten shows a date.

Apparel and jewelry pages show dates most often

By rank, delivery date display ranges from 4.2% for pages ranking 11 to 20 (142 pages) to 8.6% for pages ranking 4 to 10 (105 pages). Pages in the top 3 sit between the two at 5.5% (55 pages). There is no clear pattern of higher-ranking pages showing dates more often.

By vertical, it ranges from 3.2% in electronics, gaming and auto (31 pages) to 14.6% in apparel and jewelry (41 pages). Home, kitchen and garden sits at 6.2%, outdoor and fitness at 8.3% and beauty and health at 3.5%.

Apparel and jewelry stores often sell gifts and time-sensitive purchases, which may explain why they are more likely to promise a date. The vertical groups are small, so a few pages can move these figures a lot.

What this means for your store

Because so few product pages show a delivery date, adding one is a simple way to stand out from competitors on the same search results.

    • Show an estimate near the add to cart button. A date ("arrives by Friday") is clearer than a range, but a range is better than nothing.
    • Do not hide it behind a ZIP code. If you need a location, use a sensible default estimate and let shoppers refine it.
    • Keep it accurate. Base the estimate on your real cutoff times and carrier transit times, and update it for holidays.
    • Check it on a phone. Make sure the estimate shows without scrolling and does not shift the layout when it loads.
    • Test the impact. Run an A/B test on your best-selling products to see whether the estimate changes conversion rate.
